It's Monday....again...

Well, Monday has shown it's bright, promising face once again. Promising that we only have 18 more school days left until the end of the year, which I am very excited about...even though I'm not quite sure what God has in store for me next! I have resigned from Mason and am in the process of looking for a new job. I'm really not sure what I will end up doing...maybe not teaching at all. There is something thrilling about placing my future in His hands.
Well, this weekend was nothing too fun...Michael has been sick with a sinus infection and I'm afraid that Anne is working on one, too. So, I was mama, nurse, maid, errand runner, and everything else this weekend....and I'm exhausted. I definitely have a great appreciation for single mothers...I dont know how they do it! I hope everyone is having a blessed day!

Welcome to the Farmer's Tea

We had our first book club meeting (tea party) last night after reading Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea. We had the best time ever! We had a spread of broccoli and chicken quiche, assorted finger sandwiches, apple raisin scones, raspberry tarts with devinshire cream, blueberry pound cake with strawberry fig preserves, and of course hot tea! I felt very fancy...if we would have had the clothes I think we would have dressed up too. Everything was splendid... Cyndi, Sara, and I discussed our favorite quotes from the books and thought about what we will read next...We decided on a mystery, and our next meeting will be a clue party! No, we're not crazy, just looking for something fun to do. Anyway...anyone interested in joining the club let me know and I will give you more info. Have a great day!

First trip to the lake...

This past weekend was super busy! Saturday we worked at the church all day then went bowling that night...whew! Sunday we actually got to relax a little. We took our first trip to the lake. Anne really did great! She wasn't too sure about the life vest at first but once we got the wind blowing through her hair she really enjoyed it. Michael and I tried to ski even though the water was only 72 degrees...we both got up no problem and are suffering for it today with soreness. We had a great time and look forward to many more days at the lake this summer!

Life after tubes...

No pictures please!
Nightly ritual with daddy...

Sorry I haven't already updated on Anne's surgery, but I did one time and for some reason it wouldn't post...so I am just now getting the nerve to try again. Anyway...the surgery went great, I think it may have lasted every bit of ten minutes. She did awesome! Since then she seems to be doing fine...we just hate the ear plugs. I think I'm a little paranoid about getting water into her ears so bath time is not as fun as it used to be. Other than this, everything is going well in the Trest's household. Everyone have a great day!

Driving Miss Anne

This past weekend we had some special company...Anna and Emma! The girls had the best time playing--when Anne would share her toys anyway--and Carmen and I had fun catching up with each other. We will definitely have to do this again! Anne's new thing is screaming...we hate it. I really don't know what to do about it...she screams for her food, when she wants something, when she doesn't want something, it's terrible. I just keep hoping that after she gets these tubes in her ears tomorrow that she will not be so grumpy all the time. I will try to update after she gets them tomorrow...hope everyone has a great day!

It's FINALLY Friday!!!!

I thought this time would never come this week...3:30 on Friday! We are really excited about the weekend. Hope to get together tomorrow with Anna and Emma (Carmen's sweet twins!) for a play date...hope Anne will be sweet. I will try to remember to take some pictures. I have not been doing too good of a job of that lately. I will try to post some over the weekend!
Anne has been really walking for about a week now. She is definitely on the go all the time. It's kind of sad because she doesn't want to be held at all now... We are getting tubes put in Anne's ears next Wednesday. I know it will be best but I can't help being a little nervous since she'll have to be put to sleep...please pray for her and us. I also just found out that my dad has a touch of emphysema. This has us all pretty sad because my grandmother died from complications of this disease and it can be very ugly. Thanks for any thoughts and prayers...
Hope everyone has a blessed weekend!
