If you can't be cheerful...be as cheerful as you can

This weekend we had a shower for Amy Wood. We had a great time except that Anne wore me out! She didn't want to be held so I had to chase her all over the house. My only hope was the air vent in the floor. She really liked for it to blow up her dress, so that entertained her for a while. The only good picture I got was of Anne and I with Melissa and Conner--I was too busy chasing to take any pictures. Melissa has been one of my good friends since 8th grade! We had a really good time and are so excited to welcome baby Ezekiel into our church family! It seems like babies are coming out of the wood work these days.....
I just finished reading Anne of Green Gables and highly recommend it to everyone. It was a beautiful story...We (Cyndi and I) have started a book club and this was our first read. I think we are going to read Anne of Avonlea next because we can't wait to see what happens with Anne and Gilbert. For those of you that may not know, Anne Trest was named after Anne Shirley. This was my favorite book/movie growing up. I only hope that our Anne will grow up to be as loving, thankful, and fiery as Anne Shirley was. Anyone interested in joining the book club let me know...we definitely need some more input.

here goes...

Rules: List 5 things you do....

A. for yourself

B. for your spouse, child, or closest friend

C. for a stranger

A. 1. work in the flower beds...it's a stress reliever and it makes me feel good to have a pretty yard

2. blog...it's really fun and I enjoy reading and keeping up with people; some that I don't even know! I hope that's not weird.

3. Reading...we have just started a book club and I'm really excited about it! first book--Anne of Green Gables (anyone interested let me know!)

4. Shop...when I can afford it!

5. Drive with the windows down and listen to music loud!

B. 1. Take care of Anne...Michael helps, of course, but I would say that I am the head honcho

2. Clean the house, cook dinner most nights, do all the laundry.

3. Manage our finances somewhat...

4. Make important phone calls...Michael hates talking on the phone to people he doesn't know.

5. Anything I can think of to bless my family! I love them so much and I would be in the depths of despair without them.

C. 1. Wave/speak/smile to passerbyers

2. try to bless people that I know are in need by lending a helping hand

3. donations to salvation army etc...

sorry...I can't think of five...I feel like i'm starting to boast unintentionally...

Spring Break Fun.....

so....this spring break has been filled with good times so far! We started the week off with another trip to the Hattiesburg Zoo with the fam, which was great! Anne had a really good time seeing all the animals and riding the train and carousel. The rest of the week has been pretty low key with time at home and working in the yard, YAY!!! We finally got my new flower beds made. Anne has been a trooper...I think she played in her playpen for about 1-2 hours. I have really enjoyed the week with her. She is very close to walking, but still not quite got her balance to totally take off on her on. I'm thinking days here...

What's going on???
Hey...this is pretty fun!

It's finally here!!!!!!!!

SPRING BREAK!!!!
I thought I would never make it to this point in the school year, but it's finally here and I'm am so excited. Hopefully we will have lots of relaxing family time this week and get a few projects done in the yard...maybe I'll finally get another flower bed :)
Anne is saying some new words lately...Uh-oh and good day...It is so fun to hear her try to repeat what we are saying. She is like a little parrot!
She ended up having to go back to the doctor this week because of fever. It was like 100.8. I knew it couldn't be her ears since she was already on an antibiotic for that....well it was still her ears. They even bumped up her appointment with the ENT. He told us to wait this infection out to see how she does, but if it doesn't clear up by the time we go back or if it does and she gets another one pretty soon we'll have to have tubes. I'm really ok if we have to get them, because I'm afraid it's going to mess up her hearing if we don't do something about all of these infections she's having...it's always something! Well, happy spring break to everyone whom it applies and everyone else have a great week too! I'll try to post some pictures soon as we make memories this week!

Zoo Fun!!!

This weekend we decided to take a trip to the zoo since the weather was so beautiful! It was a picture perfect day...I mean the park was packed with families barbequeing, children playing on the playground, kids throwing footballs...and this was to be Anne's first visit to the zoo! I felt like I should be in a movie. I was actually very impressed with Hattiesburg's zoo, now it was definitely not New Orleans, but it was a good little zoo. Anne was kind of cranky the whole time and much more interested in the other children than the animals, but as soon as we got on the carousel she was all smiles! She loved it, and of course our camera died right before this, thus no pictures except on my phone :( She was so happy for those five short minutes, though, which made the whole trip worthwhile. We decided we would have to go back for another carousel ride to get some pictures!
